Golf Solitaire – Clear the Cards With Smart Moves

Golf Solitaire is a single-player card game where you try to remove as many cards as possible from the playing area. Instead of competing against another person, you solve a puzzle using a standard deck of 52 cards.

The game gets its name from golf because a lower score is better. Every card left on the table can count against your final result.

Golf Solitaire has simple rules, but clearing the entire board requires careful planning.

Understand the Card Layout

The game starts with seven columns containing five cards each. All 35 cards face upward, so you can see them from the beginning.

A separate pile contains the remaining cards. Another face-up card serves as the starting point for your moves.

Your goal is to remove cards from the seven columns by placing them on the face-up pile.

Match Cards One Number Higher or Lower

You can remove a card that ranks one step above or below the current face-up card.

For example, a 7 allows you to play a 6 or an 8. After playing an 8, you can choose a 7 or a 9.

The color and suit don’t matter. You only need to compare the card values.

You can select only the available bottom card from each column. Removing it makes the next card in that column available.

Use the Draw Pile Carefully

Sometimes none of the available cards matches your current card.

You can draw a new card from the remaining deck and continue playing.

However, the draw pile has a limited number of cards. Using them too quickly can leave you without useful moves later.

Try to Finish With a Low Score

Golf Solitaire rewards careful thinking rather than quick clicking.

Look at several columns before choosing a card. Try to create a sequence that removes multiple cards without drawing another one.

A good move can open a column and reveal new choices.

The game ends when you clear the board or run out of possible moves. Fewer remaining cards mean a better score.
